ADDIE Framework

The goal was to improve usability, stability, and alignment between content, objectives, and assessment while maintaining required instructional standards.
I approached this as an instructional design problem, using ADDIE framework to restructure the experience by improving navigation, organizing content into more manageable sections, and enhancing learner interaction
The Challenge
The existing course relied on SCORM-based delivery and embedded media that created frequent performance and usability issues. As a compliance-based training, it was critical that required content remained intact while improving the overall learning experience.
Learners experienced difficulty navigating content, inconsistent media playback, and limited interaction throughout the course, which reduced engagement and did not effectively support decision-making in a regulated environment.
My Role
I collaborated with subject matter experts to identify key content and redesign the course structure. I led the development and implementation of the updated experience within the Blackboard LMS, focusing on improving usability, organization, and overall learner experience.
The Approach
I used the ADDIE framework to guide the redesign:
Analysis: Identified usability issues, delivery constraints, and learner challenges while preserving compliance content
Design: Restructured content flow, simplified navigation, and aligned objectives with assessments
Development: Built the course in Articulate Rise to improve stability and accessibility.
Implementation: Deployed in Blackboard with improved structure and usability
Evaluation: Conducted usability testing to validate navigation, clarity, and learner interaction
Outcome
The redesigned course delivers a more stable, user-friendly learning experience with improved navigation and delivery reliability.
Content was restructured to better align with learning objectives and assessment, supporting clearer understanding and more effective decision-making.
These improvements maintained all required compliance standards while creating a more accessible and functional training experience within a regulated environment.
